Hey Keith!

Long time no see!  How are things?  are you still in Butte?  The day of 
my dissertation and departure is coming near.   I  plan to defend 
sometime in June and leave Bozeman the last week of July.   I would 
definitely like to see you and the guys at least once more to say bye.  
We could go for lunch or dinner somewhere (like the Chinese restaurant)  
How often do you come to Bozeman?  There is still quite a bit of time 
before I leave but I wanted to start coordinating.

Hey, someone could come up here too... Adam or I or both of us have
been getting to Bozeman about once a month for one thing or
another. But often when' we're driving there we're busy and
booked... But we can try to work something out. Maybe we can all
bring something in aluminum.

televise that.  Hell, people are willing to bet money on baccart, and, since 
I know the rules for that, that amazes me as well.

Well, I get basket ball more than golf.

and I get car shows and gun shows. At least with those you can go
"oooo, cool," or "aaah, pretty."

Will they start televising backgammon or Magic the Gathering soon? OK,
maybe Magic could be interesting to watch. after all, all you need is
a deck and a friend (but if you can't manage one or both of those, you
just need a computer or a game console).

Oh, you missed out.  Sometime about twelve years ago, I taped, since I 
wasn't going to stay up and watch it, coverage of some kind of Magic The 
Gathering championship that came on at 2:00a.m. on ESPN2.  They reviewed the 
deck construction of each player, had a little display in the lower corner 
for life points, had "interviews" with each of the players their "coaches" 
and their teams, and generally did their best to fill time.

Watch what you want to watch.

I like auto racing that isn't NASCAR and isn't on an oval.  Personally, I 
like watching Formula 1, which I could watch on Speedvision if I got 
Speedvision.  If you're not familiar with the overall development arcs of 
the teams and the cars and everything else, F1 is probably the most boring 
racing in the world to watch.  The order they start in is, about half the 
time, the order they finish in.  But, unlike other racing series which are 
competitions between drivers, F1 is a competition between constructors and 
not meant to be competitive.  If one company is that much better then the 
others, it might win 20 out of 23 races.  Ferrari did something like that 
about five years ago.  I still enjoy watching it.

So, I say again, watch waht you want to watch.

Oh. Wow. Really? Do you still have that tape? I was kidding,
seriously, but in a sick, twisted, self-mutilating, remove all sharp
objects from the room kind of way that would be interesting to
experience. Probably no worse than watching Webmaster.

I wouldn't be surprised if I've still got it somewhere, but I probably stuck 
it on the end of something else and never bothered to label it.  It'll 
probably turn up sometime, but I haven't seen it in more then a decade.  It 
was right at the height of the Magic mania, though.
